We left the bricks of Ourzazate (south-east of Marrakech) by our jeep to get closer to the red desert at the border with Algeria. From here it took just a few hours on our proud dromedaries’ back to arrive at the camp of the African sand masters. As beetles would, we climbed 200m high dunes to watch the sunset and spend a fresh night lying under the sky; choosing the freedom of the open sky to the ceiling of our tents. That’s the aurora first light; when the sky is still colored by stars and the sun about to rise again, as it always does.
