Getting on the moped right outside the hostel in Honolulu, we move towards the western tip of the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I had read somewhere that this was the nesting season for the Albatross and that Kaéna Point State Park would be the perfect place to see them in action; crouched, looking focused on heating their eggs but keeping a careful eye on the sea – more than just to acknowledge your curiosity for them. It goes without saying that the place was magnificent. The tip of the tip of the very tip of a volcanic islet in the middle of the Pacific Ocean… and the Elysian winds rustling through your salt crisped hair.
